Dupont -Fayetteville Works has an effluent discharge permitted at 17 million gallons per day (MGD) entering Cape Fear River (7Q10 of 356 CFS). Whole effluent samples were collected on August 3 and 6, 2004 by Dale Lopez for use in a chronic Ceriodaphnia dubia pass/fail toxicity test. The first sample was collected as a 24-hour composite, while the second sample was collected as a grab due to a sampler malfunction. The test using these samples was invalidated due to control organism performance and may not be used for compliance monitoring purposes. Toxicity test information follows.
