We are continuing to investigate the Chemours site conditions, and EPA indicated last night that we will receive their results tomorrow. We're planning to have our QA completed do we can discuss this during our afternoon call. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov. Linda, We just recently received laboratory results for GenX from testing dated October 19th 2017. As you can see from the attachment; these are in excess of the 140ppt health goal with raw water results at 281ppt and finished water results at 193ppt. According to Brunswick County Water Resources Manager Glenn Walker, these results may correspond with the DEQ samples taken at the same time. Also, based on your conversation with Glenn, it appears that this may be an isolated event due to a containment issue at one of the industrial facilities at the Chemours site. If this is the case, can you please confirm our understanding of the situation? We would like to know if you believe that this represents an isolated occurrence and that subsequent test results will again trend downward. We would like to share this information with our customers as soon as possible once it is validated. Also, while there has been some discussion on this issue in the past, we would value both DEQ's and DHHS' opinion on the significance of a single spike in testing results. We would appreciate any language that you or they could provide that we might share with customers. Another concern that we have is the absence of recent test results on the DEQ website. It does not appear to contain test results from September until now. Is it possible to update this information more frequently? Lastly, we are concerned that if there was a containment issue at Chemours in October that it has taken a significant amount of time to be imparted to us. We do not know when it was imparted to DEQ but whatever the case may be, we believe this should be imparted to the water providers as soon as possible so that we may notify customers. We would appreciate any detail that you may be able to provide on this issue. I would welcome your input on these several items; if appropriate we could discuss during the 3pm call tomorrow. We appreciate your continued efforts in behalf of all citizens affected by this issue. The NC -DEQ website is still lacking September and October data. We would like you both to talk openly about all of these issues in this mornings' conference call at 0930. Additionally go through the latest take on what water customers should do when results come back above the 140ppt for GenX.
