Dear Director:
I am writing to request a Public Hearing in Wilmington on the reissuing of the Chemours
Corporation's NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System) permit to dump
waste into the Cape Fear River.
To date, we have not yet had a definitive answer concerning the potential environmental and
health hazards posed by the indiscriminate and cavalier dumping of GenX into the river, which
is extremely horrifying to this citizen, a community member since 1981.
The community must have the opportunity to ask questions and voice our concerns before such
a permit is granted.
We look forward to hearing from you very soon about this pressing issue.
