The volume of the wastewater captured for off-site disposal has increased considerably since Chemours first began capturing streams from the DCM/Monomers area. Chemours currently captures for offsite disposal approximately 26,500 gallons per day of this wastewater. Starting the week of November 13, Chemours intends to begin arranging to have this this wastewater transported (by tanker truck and rail) for disposal at the permitted Class 1 hazardous waste deep well injection facility operated by Texas Molecular in Deer Park, TX. Chemours had determined that this method of transport and disposal will be compliant with all applicable legal requirements, will be environmentally protective, and will be more resource effective than the current method.
