I'm concerned that the impacts for this project went from 399 feet in the 2005 EA to 1,255 linear feet in
the recent permit application Our EA comments indicated that "Widening to the east side and to the
west side were considered, however the impacts for each of these alternatives appeared to be nearly
equal " Which side are they proposing to widen to and are the impacts still nearly equal to those on the
opposite side of the road now that these additional impacts have been brought to light? Have the
impacts been minimized to the extent practicable? This project was removed from the merger process
due to minimal impacts, it seems like that decision should have been revisited when it was determined
that the impacts lumped
There was no explanation for the increase of impacts in the application, there was not even a clear
description of the project It says they propose to improve the existing two lanes, but no mention that it
was going to be a four lane divided highway with access roads
We are pleased that Design Standards for Sensitive Watersheds will be used and the trout moratorium
was mentioned The trout condition should read "In-stream work and land disturbance within the
25-foot wide buffer zone is prohibited during the trout-spawning period of January 1-April 15 to protect
the egg and fry stages of rainbow trout "
