Dear Mr Noah.
RE Site visit to channel feature
Global TransPark, channels near Runway 5-23
DW Q # 01-1343
Lenoir County
This office has reviewed the information submitted at our meeting on August 29th concerning utility construction
adjacent to a channel shown on the USGS 124,000 and Lenoir County soils maps near Runway 5-23 Also as you know,
I conducted a field visit to the site on September 7, 2001. It was determined from this site visit that these channels which
are marked in yellow on the attached map are not subject to the Neuse River Buffer rules (15A NCAC 2B .0233) since
they are ditches rather than streams Also based on this site visit, the stream feature for the purpose of these rules
begins at the exit from the culvert underneath Runway 5-23 This point is marked in red on the attached map
Please call me at 919-733-9646 d you have any questions.

Dear Mr Noah
This office has reviewed the information submitted on February 23, 2002 relevant to the subject property and I
conducted a site visit for the above referenced project on February 23, 2002 It was determined that the drainage features
depicted on the USGS 124,000 topo graphic map and Lenoir County Soils map are at least intermittent streams and
therefore subject to the Neuse River Basin Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy, Protection and Maintenance
of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code T15A 02B 0233 (NCAC 0233) The origin points of these streams
have been marked in the field at our site visit with plastic flagging and I understand that you plan to survey or GPS them
The approximate locations and their descriptions are shown on the attached map
I A Stream origin at culvert under road just downstream from the intersection of two ditches,
I B Stream origin in the valley about 300 feet upslope from the main channel,
II Stream origin at the head cut beneath the flagged tree, and
III Stream origin at the upslope edge of the first area of hardwoods down slope from the agricultural
field off of SR 1581
In order to impact these streams and buffers, written approval from DWQ is required unless the project is an exempt
activity as outlined in these rules
Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this office can be of any assistance or if you have any questions
please do not hesitate to contact us
ineerely,
n Dome
