I would like include my statement in the public record for certification of the ACP 401 Natural Gas Pipeline.
The need for this pipeline is not justified by recent studies. It will be a burden on customers of both Duke
Energy and Dominion. Its environmental impact far outweighs the profits it creates. It's just one more step for
big business and politicians to profit at the expense of the public and the environment. I am a current
stockholder of Duke Energy stock, and could well benefit from this pipeline but I want no part of it. I intend to
sell my shares if this pipeline is constructed. Duke Energy has done major environmental damage to North
Carolina, they are making efforts to correct the coal ash situation, but allowing them to further damage the
environment in North Carolina for mere profit without justification is a sacrilege.
