To whom it may concern:
Thank you for providing this opportunity to comment on the ACP. I am opposed to the ACP. There is no
evidence that overall electric demand for the region is growing nor is there evidence that the pipeline is
necessary for future demand. Projected demand is expected to stay the same through 2030.
The argument in favor of the pipeline that it would be beneficial for customers' costs is also not
persuasive. Duke customers, like myself, and customers of Dominion will pay for the construction costs even if
the pipeline is not used at full capacity.
There are, however, many good reasons why the ACP should not be built, including: (1) It will adversely
affect wetlands, steams, and buffers. It would destroy nearly 28 acres of forests and riverside vegetation which
serve as buffers to prevent polluted runoff; (2) It will adversely affect erosion, sedimentation and turbidity in the
area of construction; and (3) The ACP 401 application and construction detail do not address the likely impact
on local groundwater nor does it address measures to prevent it.
Thank you for your attention to my comments.,
