Subject:ACP (Atlantic Coast Pipeline)
I am urging the NC Division of Water Resources to deny the 401 permit for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. In addition to its
furtherance of dependency on fossil fuels, I am concerned about both the short- and long-term damage the ACP would
do to sensitive ecosystems and hydrology systems along its path. Nearly 600 acres of forested wetlands would be cleared
for construction, causing lasting damage to these invaluable biological communities. The subsequent 75-foot-wide rights
of way would further the environmental destruction by permanently fragmenting these already threatened riparian
communities.
