Dear Sir or Ma'am.
Please do not grant a permit for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
The plan for this pipeline shows abundant disregard for the environment and the property owners along its
proposed route.
I am concerned about the lack of stream-level data that is missing from the application. I am also
concerned about how Duke Energy plans to construct this pipeline. Their plan to dynamite and dig deep
trenches through creeks and wetlands would cause critical damage to at-risk local species as well as
migrating birds. Their plan to tunnel under major waterways would cause erosion, mudslides, and mud
spills, including ones containing drillling toxins.
This is an expensive project with little data to support that the fracked gas it will transport is necessary nor
that will be less expensive to the consumer. In fact, rate hikes to pay for the project are certain. The only
group poised to benefit in the least from this project is Duke Energy. Consumers, wildlife, and landowners
will all be negatively affected. This is bad business and bad environmental policy.
Just say no.
