For the sake of NC’s environment which we depend upon in so many ways, please do not permit the part of the ACA, Atlantic Coast Pipeline, that is proposed through NC. Please keep in mind. the wetlands that would be disturbed are nursery grounds for many of our aquatic species. Furthermore, should this pipeline be built it would displace not only the animal and plant heritage of our state but many North Carolinians, many whose ancestors called this land home long before Europeans settled the state. In fact, there does not appear to be a real need for the energy from this pipeline. Any need could better be addressed through conservation measures. And last but perhaps most important, further development of fossil fuels will have an indisputable and cataclysmic effect on the world’s climate. North Carolinian’s must not let that happen. The buck must stop here and our fate is in your hands. Thank you for your full consideration of the arguments against permitting the Atlantic Coast Pipeline through NC. I trust you are listening to the public debate on this issue with full and open hearts and minds.
