Subject:ACP-Atlantic Coast Pipeline
In regards to the Atlantic Coast Pipeline I am asking consideration be given to its denial of permitting due to the
devastating environmental threat it poses. Nearly600 acres of forested wetlands would be cleared for its
construction. It would take 30 years for these areas to regrow. These impacts are not temporary. This is real
impact to the waterways and animal life occupying these areas. These wetlands provide natural filtration,
protect and replenish our waterways.
The ACP would bring disproportionate impacts to rural, low-income and communities of color as the route
proposed runs through some of the most rural and economically depressed counties of the state. It appears that
this is planned for a specific purpose, poor people lack the ability to be able to stand up to large corporations. It
appears this is a case of the wealtheir communities saying "not in my backyard. Please give consideration to
denying the ACP permitting. There has to be a line drawn somewhere when it comes to big oil bullying its way
to their own profits at everyone else's, including the environment's expense. Someone has to speak for our
forests waterways and animal life.
Thank you.
