For me, the major reason is climate change. The pipeline would spend money to sustain fossil fuel use and CO2 production; the latter is the key cause of climate change. We must decrease and stop use of fossil fuels, not ease their use. Rather than spending the money on the proposed ACP, it should be used to help convert our state and our country to the renewable energy future that we all know we need. Climate change is and will negatively impact all people, plants and animals. Importantly, though the biggest impact of climate change will be on the poor. The south east and NC are predicted to fair worse than some other regions of the US, so the poor of NC, rural and urban, will be greatly disadvantaged as the climate warms. Preventing further development of fossil fuels and climate change is reason enough to not build the ACP, but it should also not be built because the ACP will take people's property, especially the property of rural and native Americans. It will endangers streams and water sheds and endanger property possibly preventing farmers and home owners from using (now contaminated) property. Thank you.
