Best, -JDF Jonathan Felts 1 Jonathan Felts 303 Mulberry Street Raleigh, NC 27604 TO: DEQ RE: Atlantic Coast Pipeline To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to state my support for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline I believe it means more and better jobs for the working families of North Carolina. Further, this pipeline project will more broadly help the country as well via greater energy independence. With the constantly improving technology, the pipeline is environmentally responsible and a safe measure that can help grow our state's economy. While we can always bury our head in the sand and ignore facts, the simple reality is that North Carolina, due to an ever-growing demand, needs an increase in the supply of natural gas. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline is a responsible infrastructure project that will help supply enough natural gas to meet the demands of North Carolinians seeking an alternative to coal -based, electricity. The gas transported via this pipeline will generate cleaner electricity to heat homes. The pipeline is also a safer means of transporting natural gas as compared to highway, rail, or water. Stream and wetland crossing techniques and the pipeline construction methods more than meet rigorous guidelines meant to protect water quality. This project has had nearly three years of review and input by numerous federal, state and local bodies. FERC and other agencies have carefully analyzed the project for potential environmental impacts. The experts say this pipeline is safe. It is now time to move forward with this project. Thank you. Sincerely, Jonathan Felts
