Please count me among the many North Carolinians who support the
construction of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
I feel strongly that energy independence is essential to the economic health
of our state, especially as demand for natural gas in our area continues to
grow. I know how critical it is to have a reliable — and long-term — source
of energy for our homes, businesses and communities.
The extensive permitting and review requirements together with NC DEQ's
over sight assure minimal environmental impact to land and water. The
natural gas will also result in a substantial reduction in green house gas
emissions from the power generation sector.
I’m encouraged by the fact that the Atlantic Coast Pipeline is a source of
clean and affordable natural gas that comes from right here in the USA.
With the ACP, we'll maintain our energy independence and have the energy
we need to meet future demands.
As you consider action on this matter, please keep in mind my support of
