Box 1006 Charlotte, NC 28201-1006 o 704.382.8768 c 704.907.8628 On July 18, 2017, Duke Energy sent a communication to the 77 households who are eligible for a permanent water solution under HB630 and who currently receive their water from Aqua North Carolina (Aqua) supply wells. The communication included the guidance provided by NCDEQ to Duke Energy in the Department's July 7, 2017 letter and requested that their choice as to a solution be returned by August 4, 2017. As of August 9, 2017, Duke Energy has received the selection cards from 55 of the 77 households. Connecting the existing Aqua system to the City of Belmont is the quickest and least disruptive way to provide the households with a permanent and high quality water supply. If approved by the Department, Duke Energy will work with the City of Belmont and Aqua to implement the solution. Please let me know at the number above or at Jessica.
