HomeMy WebLinkAbout20050191 Ver 1_General Correspondence_20060918F15WA pSv(ct NCDENR s North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Michael F Easley, Governor MEMORANDUM TO Chrys Baggett State Clearinghouse FROM Melba McGee Environmental Review William G Ross Jr, Secretary RE: 07-0059 EA - NC 133 Connector from NC 211-133 to NC 87- 133, Southport, Brunswick County DATE September 18, 2006 The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has reviewed the proposed Environmental Assessment In order to avoid delays in the review of the FONSI, we recommend the following items 1 Be more specific on describing impacts to wetlands, stream crossings, the federally endangered Red-cockaded woodpecker, proximity of the preferred alternative to loosestrife, flytrap and the State and Federal Species of Concern savanna indigo-bush 2 Provide additional information regarding any observation/analysis and/or surveys to our commenting agencies prior to the Merger 01 concurrence point 3 meeting for the selection of the Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative 3 Involve Harry LeGrand with the Natural Heritage Program in the Merger 01 concurrence point 3 meeting if his concerns have not been resolved.
