Thank you for your letter dated February 12, 2016 concerning drainage issues adjacent to the
recently graded p�rti�n �f pmject R-3307, the iJS 7Q Reaiaf�rt Rypass which runs adjacent t� the
Beaufort Airport.
As you stated, staff from the NCDOT, primarily from our Hydraulic Unit have been working with
your staff on how to resolve these drainage issues.
As part of the R-3307, US 70 Bypass project we l�ave coordinated with your staff to remove
drainage blockages from the existing ditch that drains at the airport and the US 70 Bypass project.
This work should take place in Apri12016.
Additionally,our Hydraulics Unit has retained a consultant engineering firm to determine the
causes of the drainage issues and offer possible solutions.
