Bob,
John did look at the pond above the wetland. It was decided that the the
pond only during overflow times supplies water below to the wetland (A)
below. The wetland below the hill where the pond is located is catching
runoff from the hill and roadside ditch. The roadside ditch as well as any
water coming out of the wetland flow under the road to the other channel and
the second wetland area (B). This channel just fizzled out as you know
(called empheral at the DWQ onsite visit). So the call of isloated was made
for both wetlands.

Deanna,
It's on my desk. I apologize. Things have been crazy around here and I
just haven't been able to get to it. I'll move it up on the priority
list and try to get you something soon. Brian did discuss the calls
made by John Thomas. I'm a little surprised that he called the area
isolated. I could see how some of the area wouldn't meet the definition
of a jurisdictional wetland (maybe even all the area below the pond and
above the road), but there seemed to be an overland connection to me.
Not that it matters for your project, but I believe that his call would
exclude the pond up hill from this area. Anyway, I'll get you a buffer
determination letter out based on our meeting (months ago, sorry).

Hi Bob,
I wanted to touch base with you to see where we are on the buffer
calls for U-3615 in Guilford County. I also wanted to make sure
that you knew that John Thomas with ACOE had made isolated
wetland calls for the two wetland areas that we looked at onsite.
I have spoken to Brian Wrenn to update him and did not know if he
had shared the info.
Thanks for your attention,
Deanna
