NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING ON HIGHWAY NOISE CONCERNS
FOR THE COMPLETED GREENSBORO WESTERN LOOP FROM 1-85 TO I-40
TIP Project No. U-2524
Guilford County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold a Public
Meeting on Thursday, May 22, 2008, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
at the Pilot Elementary School, located at 4701 Chimney Springs Drive, Greensboro,
27407. The meeting will be held in the Gym.
The Public Meeting will be a formal proceeding with NCDOT representatives.
The Public Meeting will present the final noise reevaluation. The formal presentation
will begin at 7:00 pm. The presentation will consist of a general description of the
project and will include an explanation of the noise wall evaluation process, noise
wall locations and future landscaping plans. NCDOT representatives will be available
to answer questions and receive comments about the project. An opportunity will be
provided for citizens' comments and questions after the formal presentation.
Please send any comments or questions you would like addressed during the
presentation to the NCDOT Human Environment Unit by mail at 1583 Mail Service
Center, Raleigh, 27699-1583, or by email to Public-Involvement@dot.state.nc.us
with GREENSBORO NOISE in the subject line.
NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with
Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in this meeting. Anyone
requiring special services should contact Ms. Kimberly Hinton, Human Environment
Unit, at (919) 715-1595 as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.
