Thanks. The deadline for comments on the CAMA Permit request is 4/19/16.

Although this is not an agenda item for the IRT meeting tomorrow, I received an e-mail a short time ago from
Todd Tugwell that he may have time to discuss it tomorrow while we are together at Falls Lake. If you or Amy
are at the IRT meeting tomorrow, hopefully you will have time to join the discussion. It’s not an agenda item,
so I assume he meant we could talk about it after the meeting is over. Not sure about that, though. Tracey
Wheeler will be participating in the IRT meeting by phone, and I think she plans to join the discussion about the
Coastal Studies Institute - Visitors Center Pedestrian Walkway.

RE: Request from NCDOT to construct a pedestrian and bicycle pathway to help connect the Coastal Studies
Institute to the Town of Manteo through the NCDOT Roanoke Island Visitor Information Center and Rest Area
in Dare County.

Hello Randy, Leilani, Ginny and Todd,

The attached application for a Major Modification of CAMA Permit No. 24-08 from NCDOT and the Coastal
Studies Institute was circulated last week to state and federal agencies for review and comment. This includes
other representatives from your agency that routinely receive requests for comments from DCM (Ken Pace
(NCDOT), Garcy Ward (DWR), and Tracey Wheeler (USACE). Although you do not usually receive CAMA
permit applications for review and comment, due to the previous involvement of you or your agency with the
Roanoke Island Visitor Center Mitigation Site, your comments are also requested.

Please find attached three documents in pdf that comprise the application, as well as a pdf document of the
DCM Field Investigation Report, and a pdf document of background documents from the DCM files for the
Roanoke Island Visitor Center Mitigation Site.

Please let me or Greg Daisey know if you have any questions or concerns.
