L.Shaeffer@usace.army.mi1; Burdette, Jennifer a Cc: galo@novonordisk.com; jason.hartshorn@kimley-horn.com Subject: Novo Nordisk - additional delineation area Attachments: _Project Bright Sky -Gordon Road Access -JD Features Maps_19Nov2015.pdf David and Jennifer, Following our field verification and pre -app meeting on 10/28, the USACE determined that the Gordon Rd. access should be included as part of the Novo permit including an evaluation of alternatives for the access road. In response to this request, we have delineated the wetland areas south of the railroad that are associated with the Gordon Rd. access alternatives (see attached maps —yellow highlighted areas) and completed functional designs for each of the alternatives (construction slope stakes + 25 feet). These wetlands are extensions of wetlands WC and WD that you previously reviewed in the field. As shown on the map, there is a stream feature within this additional area that is mapped on the NRCS soil survey (attached) that would be subject to the Neuse buffer rules. These additional wetland/stream areas will be added to the revised Prelim JD package that will be submitted in conjunction with the permit application. I would like to schedule a follow-up field verification of these additional wetland/stream areas. After the field review, I think it would be helpful if we could have another pre -app meeting to review and discuss the various on-site alternatives as well as the Gordon Road access alternatives in advance of the permit submittal (we are targeting a Dec.71n submittal). Novo Nordisk is in the process of acquiring this additional property and will provide written authorization from the current property owners to you in advance of the field review. Please send me dates that you have availability for a meeting and I will coordinate a day/time that works best with everyone's schedule. Thanks for your help and input with our permit process.
