Thorpe, Ph.D. of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, for impacts associated witli the widening project identified as U-3326AB. The 6.7 inile project consists of widening U.S. Business 29 (Freeway Drive) froin SR 2670 (South Sca]es Streei) north to NC 14 in Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina. Section A begins at South Scales Street and terminates at US l 58 (Richardson Drive), and Section B begins at Richardson Drive and ends at NC 14. The project area conYains a portion of Little Troublesome Creek, one (1) unnamed tributary to Little Troublesome Creek, three (3) uimamed tributaries to Troublesome Creek-Lake Reidsville and two (2) adjacent wetland areas, in the Cape Fear River Basin (8-Digit Cataloging Unit 03030002) as well as thirteen (13) unnamed tributaries to Wolf Island Creek and one (1) adjacent wetland in the Roanoke River Basin (8-Digit Cataloging Unit 030] O7 03). Impacts authorized by the permit include the permanent discharge of fill material into 2,610 linear feet of sYream channel and 0.001 acre of adjacent riparian wetlands, and the temporary discharge of iill material inCo 493 linear feeC of stream channel and 0.006 acre of adjacent riparian wetlands. Mitigation was implemented for unavoidable impacts to streams by providing payment into the North Carolina Ecosystem Enhancement Program (NCE�P) for 3,946 Warm Stream Mitigation Units. Also reference your letter to the Corps dated September 22, 2015, received via e-mail September 23, 2015, requesting modification of the permit to extend the permit expirarion date, to allow eompletion of the project which has been slowed due to delayed utility relocations. �. Therefore, the permit is hereby modified to extend the permit expiration date to December 31, 2018.
