Thomas Subject: Bridgewater Tailrace Ed, I hope all is well. I'm not sure of the appropriate contact at DWR, but I wanted to see if you have heard anything about unusual algae within Bridgewater Tailrace below Lake James? I received a call from an avid angler on Friday that stated he saw a lot of long, filamentous algae within the tailrace from Muddy Creek down. He was very concerned as he has never seen this before in his years fishing there. He stated the water column was so inundated that you could make 6 casts at most before you had to clean all of your gear. We've never seen or heard of this either, so I wanted to touch base with you to see if you or anyone within your office were familiar with this? Take care and thank you.
