I'm not aware of any specific information that the Surface Water Section will have on wastewater from wineries, although they may have contacts in other regional offices that deal with wineries. I believe the Winston-Salem office has a large number of wineries located in the "Yadkin Valley area" and therefore some wastewater treatment plants may have information similar to what Grey Walls is looking for. If you speak with Grey, you can ask if he has any contacts with treatment plant operators in some of the following counties they may provided some information: Davidson, Yadkin, Surry, Alleghany, Wilkes, Stanley and Cabarus. I got these counties from reviewing the NC Wineries list and map of wineries located in NC at this website, http://www.ncwine.org. Hopefully one of the counties listed will have some experience in dealing with wastewater from wineries.
