Let’s carry on with business as usual regarding our use of safety fencing ahead of clearing. Within our wetlands, if we need to differentiate between the type of clearing (i.e mechanized vs. hand clearing), we should utilize the boundary flagging as detailed in the contract special provisions. The use of safety fencing meets the conditions in the 404 and 401 permits, and the Division feels that it is more protective. If we get further clarification from Roadside Environmental in the future, we might have to adjust. Please communicate this with Smith Rowe and Flatiron. I have also included the sign in sheet from our environmental preconstruction meeting for your (and their) records. Copying the Jeremy’s since I discussed with them after our meeting. The exert from the EC manual is contradictory. We can discuss over the phone. I discussed with Thomas and he is going to discuss with his folks next week. I’ll follow up with you after I hear back from him.
