NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION OF WATER QUALITY RALEIGH REGIONAL OFFICE April 12, 2000 Neal Floyd 7908 Audubon Drive Raleigh, N. C. 27615 Subject: Neuse River Basin Riparian Buffer Rules NBRRO 00 -078 Grissom Farm Subdivision Highway 50 Wake County Dear Mr. Floyd: On June 2, 1999 I met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the above referenced project. This project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 00 -078. It was determined that there is one feature on site that is a stream and is represented on the Wake County Soils Map and the USGS Map present on this property. The Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233) states that water bodies that are at least intermittent are subject to protection. The stream (feature) has been delineated on the map received by this Office on March 17, 2000. The proposed road crossing is located on an existing road bed and should help iii minimizing the impacts to the buffer. Please be reminded that a PreConstruction Notification and the appropriate fee must be transmitted and approved prior to any impacts to the buffer. Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this Office can be of any assistance or if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
