Re: Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority
Randleman Reservoir
Wetland Impact Mitigation

Dear Pete:
We appreciate your review comments on the preliminary development sketches of the four (4)
wetland mitigation sites being considered for development by the Piedmont Triad Regional Water
Authority. The comments contained in this review letter along with your conversation with Eddie
MacEldowney of our office will be most helpful as these preliminary documents are advanced to
detailed mitigation plans.
The Authority is committed to purchase approximately 40 acres along Reddicks Creek at the golf
course. This is necessary to comply with their committed buffer requirements. Since this site is
available, it is the Authority's desire to include it as a mitigation site though it may not be too cost
effective and, as you noted, will be mostly constructed wetlands.
.y We also concur with your observation that an additional 10 to 15 acre site should be considered to
71C yield the required 120 acres ± mitigation.
Since there appears to be some concern regarding the experience level of those providing this
service for the Authority, I would like to advise you of the members of the team assembled to
provide these mitigation design services for this project:
• Davis-Martin-Powell & Associates as prime Civil-Environmental Consultant.
• Mr. Glen Simpson, Soil Scientist, on site soil evaluations.
• Engineering Consulting Services, Ltd., Soil and Environmental Scientists,
Wetland delineation and assistance with mitigation planning
• Patton Zucchino, Landscape Architecture, Development of Wetland Planting
Plans.

We feel that the experience of this project team is well qualified to implementing this mitigation plan.
If you have any suggestions which would strengthen this team or enhance the ability to meet the
requirements of this mitigation, we would appreciate your comments.
We look forward to advancing this mitigation planning and effecting the required ratio of wetland
creation/restoration required by this 120 acre ± impact.
With best personal regards, I remain,
Very truly yours,
