Subject:Dissolution of the Mountain Island Lake Marine Commission

In case you are not aware, as of June 30, 2014, the Mountain Island Lake Marine Commission (MILMC) has been
dissolved. The MILMC actively participated in the Catawba-Wateree relicensing process and signed the Catawba-
Wateree Comprehensive Relicensing Agreement (CRA). Duke Energy appreciates the efforts and contributions of the
MILMC in the Catawba-Wateree relicensing process.

While the CRA does not directly address the dissolution of a Party organization, Duke Energy’s assessment is the viability
of the CRA is not affected by the dissolution of the MILMC. No CRA obligations or benefits are affected and no
modification of the CRA at this time is warranted. Any later CRA modification will simply proceed without the MILMC
and we will document the MILMC as no longer being a Party due to their dissolution. Duke Energy will proceed now to
incorporate this change in CRA Appendix B (PARTIES AND DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES) and update its web page
featuring the latest Appendix B. As of July 1, 2014, there are 69 Parties to the CRA.
