Sites not visited are not listed below DIVISION 7 cU 3100A (Michael sBranch- Mitigation Site) Site visited March 1 2010 Two beaver dams present in the restoration reach Banks appear to be stable however it s really hard to tell in some areas because of the inundation from the dams Lots of beaver activity is visible including worn tracks and dams U 2524AB (Site 7 and 17) Site visited April 6 2010 The beaver dam has been removed The channel continues to be inundated with cattails and relatively stagnant water The Division may need to assess the type of water feature at this site at project closeout to determine the appropriate mitigation ratios U2524AB (Site 3) Site visited April 9 2010 Vegetation (cattails willows) is established in sections of the channel There are few surviving trees upstream of the pipe crossing Otherwise channel appears stable and caddisflies colonizing the lower reach U 2524AC Woodlyn WE Didn t visit Culvert upgrade by City of Greensboro on Woodlyn Way recently completed U 2524AC (Site 1) Site visited April 9 2010 Stream appears unchanged since last year Unstable crossvem above pipe inlet has stabilized There is good success with vegetation U 2524AB (Site meander before enter culvert This needs to be repaired Tributary 2 cross vein at the edge of right of way has been cut around This also needs to be repaired DIVISION 9 R 2568B (Site 4) Didn t visit No changes were noted since the Winter 09 monitoring Martin Site (B 3045 WM) Site visited March 2010 Floods continually damage the fencing at the crossing and on the right side of the channel Flooding also resulted in damage to the culverts that DOT installed upstream for a crossing (I didn t see this but conversations with DOT indicated as much) There is evidence of trampling in the buffer Beavers are present just upstream of the project Discussions with DOT indicate that they are holding the landowner is responsible for fixing the fence damage The structures in the stream channel are stable and I found lots caddisflies on the rocks in the riffles UT Town Creek Mitigation Sites Site 5 visited March 30 2010 There is lots of trash especially downstream of 185 Some bank scour present There is very little tree buffer present both up and downstream of 185 crossing Upstream of I 85 the channel is becoming braided and appears to be straightening itself out Site 8 not visited R 2911E Visited April 4 2010 The Division requests that you continue to closely monitor this buffer area for any more disturbance from mowing by the adjacent landowner At the culvert outlet a lot of material has deposited on the floodplam bench and the channel is cutting back into the bench resulting in the bent material to slough into the channel 12511 CB Town Creek Site 5 Visited April 12 2010 Localized heavy bank scour is present in front of bent behind J hook This was noted on the stream monitoring form Possible repairs need to be discussed B 3157 (Michael s Branch AO Visited April 12 2010 Bank scour around cross arms between photo points 3 and 4 This was noted on the Summer 09 stream monitoring form However it was noted the problems had been addressed however the arms still look unstable At pipe inlet a lot of sediment has deposited creating a very narrow channel However outlet has never filled in and is still very wide Division 11 R3427 US 601) Didn t visit No changes were noted since
