Strict adlierence to the most recent version of NCDOT's Best Management Practices For Bridge Deniolition and Removal approved by the US Anny Corps oCEngineers is a condition of the 401 Water Quality Certification. 20. New roadside ditches must be in compliance with the nitrogen control and diffuse Flow requirements outlined in ISA NCAC 2B .0259. 22. Pursuant to NCAC 1 SA 2B .0259(6),sedimen[and erosion control devices shall not be placed in Zone 1 of any Tar-Pamlico Buffer withou[prior approval by the NCDWQ. At this time,the NCDWQ has approved no sediment and erosion control devices in 7.one I,outside of the approved project impacts,anywhere on this . projecL Moreover,sedimen[and erosion wntrol devices shall be allowed in Zone 2 of the buffers providad that � Zone I is not compromised and Ihat discharge is released as ditFuse tlow. 23. All riparian buffers impacted by[he placement of[emporary fill or clearing activi[ies shail be restored to the preconstruction wntours and revegetated.Mnintained buffers shall be permanenAy revegetated with non-woody species by the end of the gruwing season following completion of construction. For[he purpose of this condition,maintained buffer areas are defined as areas within the transportation wrzidor that will be subject to regular DOT maintenance activities including mowing.The area with non-maintained bufl'ers shall be permanently revegetated,with native woody species before the next growing season following completion of �cons[ruction. . � Page 4 of 5 - 24.
