Construction continues along most of the project with heavy grading, bridge construction and pipe installation. Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and seeding and mulching are performed as required to protect State surface waters. Also, please refer to the attached inspection reports for any specific items noted during the inspection. If you have questions, please call me at 828-296-4500. Michael R. The new Broad River Bridge has been completed. Sediment has been removed from both up and downstream at Station 41+00. This restoration looks good. All areas that have been graded and no construction has taken place in the last 14 days should be seeded and mulched. All sediment and erosion control structures/devices should be checked for proper operation including the silt fence. Also, clean around waddles and drop inlets. North of Station 273+00 sediment should be removed from the stream bed. Now would be a good time to remove any sediment since no water is flowing in the channel. Repair and maintain all erosion control devices and continue with seeding and matting as required to protect State surface waters. Please ensure that installation of sediment and erosion control devices are keeping pace with the construction. Seed and mulch all bare soil areas. All areas that have been graded and no construction has taken place in the last 14 days should be seeded and mulched. The slope a the Y line north of Station 323+00 needs seeding. All sediment and erosion control structures/devices should be checked for proper operation including the silt fence. Also, check all waddles and drop inlets. At Station 455+00 remove small amount of off site sediment below concrete pipe and beyond fence. Remove sediment from basin at Station 323+00. The graded area north of this station including the roadway is eroding badly. Repair and maintain all erosion control devices and continue with seeding and matting as required to protect State surface waters. R2233AB Inspection Report July 2011
