GOVGRNON S[c Kl':TQHY June 29, 2011 Mr. Robert Ridings NC Division of Water Quality ~ ~ ®V Transportation Permitting Unit 1650 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27609 I SUBJECT: NW 14 and V1'QC # 3820 request to widen NC 33 to a 3 lane facility behseen US 64 and US 64a in Tarboro, NC Dear Sirs: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to widen NC 33 to a 3 lane facility between US 64 and US 64a. Project related impacts to jurisdictional areas will occur at a crossing of an unnamed tributary of Tar River. This feature is shown as an intermittent stream on the Edgecombe County Soil Survey. Widening the road will result in 16 linear fi of stream fill for additional pipe and 3342 sq. fi. of buffer impact. NCDOT anticipates that this project will be authorized under a NWP 14. This application is also intended as a request for written authorization from the NC Division of Water Quality to proceed with a pipe replacement under General Water Quality Certificate # 3820. For our files, please provide written notice that this activity is authorized.
