The proposed work is necessary in order to reduce future maintenance needs and increase traffic safety. Three existing culverts will also be replaced and/or lengthened during the proposed project. The project is over UT's of Little Alamance Creek and Big Alamance Creek which aze within the Jordan Lake watershed and it will involve buffer impacts. Total new impacts to jurisdictional streams is anticipated to be 38 lineaz feet. The NCDOT anticipates that the activity will be authorized under Nationwide Permit (NWP) 14. This package is also being forwarded to the NC Division of Water Quality for authorization as prescribed under General Water Quality Certification H3820 (NW 14) and a written buffer authorization.
