Dear Mr. Swain:
On March 25, 2011, 1 inspected the construction work on TIP Project No. R-2824, NCSR 1546 (Lovelady
Road) in Burke County. The new bridge has been completed and work is continuing with the widening
project.
Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and seeding and mulching are
performed as required to protect State surface waters. Also, please refer to the attached inspection report for
any specific items noted during the inspection.

The new bridge has been completed and traffic is now using it.
Grading work on the west side of the bridge is continuing. Seeding of the embankment is to be completed in a
few days.
Construction of the new spill basins will begin in the near future.
Sediment and erosion control structures appear to be in good shape.
Continue to maintain erosion control devices and seed and mulch areas as required.
