Dear Sirs: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to remove accumulated sediment and debris from UT to Buffalo Creek between SR 1702 (Archers Lodge road) and SR 1003 (Buffalo Road) in Johnston County. This activity proposes to permanently impact a total of 250 linear feet of stream channel. The NCDOT anticipates that this stream cleanout activity will be authorized under Nationwide Permit 3 (NWP 3). This application is also intended as a request for written authorization from the NC Division of Water Quality to proceed with a stream cleanout under General Water Quality Certificate # 3494 (NWP 3) and buffer authorization.
