R-2233A Rutherford County Dear Mr. Swain: On August 9, 2010, 1 inspected the construction work on the US Highway 221 Project in Rutherford County. Clearing and grubbing work continues along with grading, culvert construction and work on the Broad River B fidge. Please ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and seeding and mulching are performed as required to protect State surface waters. Grading continues on both sides of the Broad River and construction work is underway for the new Broad River Bridge. Also, work has started on culverts. At the Broad River Bridge project it appeared that one of the.permanent casing had not been seated properly and drill slung was escaping into the River. Please ensure that all drilling operations are in compliance with 401 Certification conditions. Project appeared to be in good condition.
