You have our approval to place fill material in 0.04 acres of wetlands or waters for the purpose of
improving SR 1383, as you described in your application dated 4 April 1996. After reviewing your
application, we have decided that this fill is covered by General Water Quality Certification Number
2735. This certification allows you to use General Permit Number 031 when it is issued by the Corps
of Engineers.
This approval is only valid for the purpose and design that you described in your application. If
you change your project, you must notify us and you may be required to send us a new application.
For this approval to be valid, you must follow the:conditions listed in the attached ccrtifwation. In

project.

SUBJECT; Spot Improvement, SR 1383, Buncombe Co.
Dear Mr. Baker:
We are providing a package of design sketches concerning wetlands that
will be impacted by this project. We have enclosed a completed N.C D.E.M.
application for your use.
We are planning on channel changing Round Hill Branch for
approximately seventy feet on the south side of SR 1383 to help eliminate
erosion of the roadway in this area. Also, we will be building concrete head walls
on each end of the existing 84" cmp crossing SR 1383 a this site.
