DESCRIPTION: Inte I rstate 26 From Asheville to Sams Gap
Mr. David Baker
U.S. Army Corps of F ngineers
37 Battery Park Avenue, Room 75
Asheville, N.C. 218801
Dear Mr. Baker,
SANt HUNT
SLCRETARY
The Geotechnical Unit of the North Carolina Department of
Transportation is cpnducting a subsurface investigation along the
proposed route of Interstate 26 in Madison County, from the
intersection of US-1119 and US-23, north to Big Laurel Creek. To
do this it will be necessary to construct some access roads for
our drill machines into the area.
Attached is an application for a permit to place a pipe in Bear
Branch. Crossing Bear Branch at this location will keep our
access well away from the owner's house and avoid damage to his
driveway and other property.
The property owner is aware of this work and if you have any
questions or comments, please contact me.
Sincerely,
-7
