Notes and Sketches, etc
TW4 - significant privet in buffer and on banks; minor incision, flow
observed in lower section & ponded water in upper section, observed
wetland pockets; large bedrock headcut; supplemental planting proposed
along easement borders, remove sheet metal debris, extend easement to
capture WA, identify path in easement lower section, concern about
amount of functional uplift since system is not high quality for preservation
TW2A - incised, unconsolidated sediment - very sandy, privet, trash piles,
P2 hybrid proposed, culvert crossings to be replaced, check for tile drains
in ag field buffer area, flow observed in central section, steep slopes in
central wooded section, privet already mulched in some areas creating
open understory
TW2C - stop credit at crossing, propose crossing enhancement (culvert or
ford?)
TW3 - mapped feature looks appropriate- non jurisdictional channel at top
section, very incised
TW1 - some bedrock in upper section, significant bedrock in central
section, flow observed, incised, moderately steep valley, significant privet,
top culvert perched - not designed for replacement but needs to be, bottom
culvert ok, more stable/less incised in lower section, overall not a high
quality preservation reach, minimal functional uplift appears feasible at this
point
WF - delineation needed to cut out sand ridges along eastern and
southern extent of pathway, two upland areas were identified based on
topo & soil samples that roughly correspond with the NWI map in the mit
plan, based on drive by the preservation areas appears to contain high
and medium quality habitat, invasives present
Wrap up - change TW4 & TW1 to 1:10 enhancement reaches, add a
descriptive adaptive management plan with potential MY1-3 treatments
(supplemental planting, live staking) that could result in more credit;
