PROJECT SUMMARY: The applicant proposes to construct a 115' x 6' pier with a 6' x 40' "L" on the waterward end at his property on Tar Creek near Pamlico in Pamlico County. FIELD INVESTIGATION REPORT: TED MAYS PAGE #2 9. NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The applicant's property is a 1.21 acre lot located off SR 1317 on Tar Creek in Pamlico, Pamlico County. The property is an undeveloped wooded lot at the end of a cul-de-sac. The applicant has received several General Permits for construction of a pier on the property but has not constructed a pier. There currently is a valid General Permit(#12118) for construction of a pier. However, the applicant wants a long term assurance that he can build a pier and therefore he has submitted this Major Permit Application. The applicant proposes to build a 115' by 6' pier with a 40' by 6' "L" at the waterward end. He proposes to place two mooring pilings 15' waterward of the "L", which will effectively make the total pier length 130' into Tar Creek. The applicant proposes to construct a 6' by 50' boardwalk over highground and wetlands leading to the pier. The water depth at the waterward end of the pier is approximately -5 NWL. 10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: The waters of Tar Creek are classified as SA by DEM, designated as a PNA by DMF and open to shellfishing by DEH and DMF. The proposed pier will occupy approximately 1530 sq. ft. of public trust waters. SUBMITTED BY: W. DAVID NOBLE FEBRUARY 9, 1994 Please type or print. Carefully describe all an- d.
