Dear Mr. Orr:
On May 23, 2009, staff from the Mooresville Office (MRO) met with Anna Salzberg of Clearwater
Environmental regarding the areas of concern and to be remediate due to the unapproved impacts. On June 26, 2009, staff
met with Clement Little of Clearwater to review/inspect the work that had been conducted. There were six areas
inspected: Culvert "G", Culvert "H", Stream 1B, the wetland, the new "light path" for the proposed runway, and two
additional stream that are to remain daylight, but are included in the impact area..
In respect to the wetland, Stream 1B, and culverts G and H, the MRO considers the matter closed. Regarding the
area of the new runway lights, the stream needs some minor restoration/stabilization. Also there are two additional stream
channels that are full of sediment, and should be "cleaned" on a regular schedule. Once construction is completed at the
site, the sediment must be removed from the entirety of the channel as well as the check dams so as to allow free stream
flow. Ms. Melanie Carter was informed of these new areas during the site visit.
Per the construction storm water permit, the MRO should be contacted in cases of unapproved stream impacts. If
