9. NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The applicant has a 5,000 sq. ft.
lot with an existing mobile home and dock located at Lot
#126, Beach Mobile Home Park, on Bogue Sound, Atlantic
Beach, Carteret County. The applicant's proposed project -is
to install a 12' x 14' boat lift on the western side of his
existing pier. The proposed lift will encroach into the 15'
setback of the western neighbor, Mr. Grady, but he has
waived the setback requirement. A Major Permit is required
for this project due to the objection of the eastern
adjacent property owner.
10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: The boat lift will occupy
approximately 168 sq. ft. of public trust waters. The
waters of Bogue Sound at the project site are classified as
'SA' by the Division of Environmental Management and closed
to shellfishing by the Division of Health Services and the
Division of Marine Fisheries.
