NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The property is located on Williston Creek, off Highway 70, in Williston, Carteret County. The applicant is leasing a .2 acre tract from an absentee landowner. Basically, the property is a small strip of land just off the right-of-way of Highway 70. The property currently has a 120' pier. The proposed project is to construct an additional 120' x 4' pier about 70' away from the existing pier. The second proposed pier is the reason a major permit is required. Water depths at the end of the pier are -3' MLW. 10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: The proposed project is located on "SA" waters as classified by the Division of Environmental Management and the waters are closed to shellfishing by the Division of Health Services.
