Please provide the Required Items Checklist for each of the proposed BMPs, plus
all required items that were omitted in the previous submittal, including:
a. The delineated drainage basins,
b. A construction sequence that shows how the BMPs will be protected from
sediment until construction of the project is complete,
c. Signed and notarized Operation and Maintenance Agreements, and
d. A soils report that is based on actual field investigation and soil borings.
2. Please address the following issues associated with the planting plans:
a. The DWQ recommends that greatly reduce the use of trees in the
stormwater wetlands and the bioretention area; these will shade the shrubs
and herbaceous species as they mature.
b. DWQ does not recommend the use of Alnus serulata (hazel alder) in
stormwater wetlands because it is a nitrogen fixer and also because of its
tendency to out-compete other plants.
c. Please provide the list of "approved equals" that might be used in place of
the plants specified in the planting plan.
d. Please provide a list of source nurseries for the proposed plants.
