This memorandum is to advise you that the above referenced
case can now be closed.
As you will recall, this case was initiated to require the
above persons to apply for and obtain a valid mining permit. This
goal was accomplished when Radford Quarries of Boone, Inc. was
issued a mining permit for the site on August 16, 1993.
Although minor work is still needed at the site in order for
Radford Quarries of Boone, Inc. to be considered in full compliance
with it's mining permit, I feel it is appropriate to close this
case in light of the above. Should the situation at the site
worsen, the Winston-Salem Regional office staff can initiate proper
enforcement action against the permittee through Notices of
Violation and, if needed, a new enforcement case referral.
I greatly appreciate all the time and effort vo-u put into this
case in assisting us in gaining compliance,*!)�-�V47issuance of a
valid mining permit, at this site.
