Subject company has not requested reissuance of the NPDES Permit for
this facility. The company has submitted a request to our
Winston-Salem Regional Off ice for "transfer" of the former Air
Quality Permit (previously revoked) to a new entity. Our WSRO staff
have advised the company that a new application will be required,
since the previous permit was revoked. In summary, we have not issued
any new permits for this facility.

I HAVE A RATHER PRESSING NEED TO KNOW THE STATUS OF AIR AND WATER
PERMITS FOR THIS QUARRY. YOU MAY RECALL DECLARING THEIR NPDES PERMIT
NULL AND VOID BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE NAME OF A NON-EXISTANT
CORPERATION (I DID THE SAME ABOUT THEIR MINING PERMIT) . NOW, WE'RE
GETTING MIXED MESSAGES ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE VALID WATER AND
AIR PERMITS. HAVE THEY APPLIED? HAVE NEW PERMITS BEEN ISSUED? IN
WHAT NAME(S)?
WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR LOOKING INTO THIS. THANKS.
