State Mining Specialist Land Quality Section P. 0. Box 27687 Raleigh, NC 27611 46, rig //0 /V Re: Application for Mining Permit Bamboo Road Quarry Dear Mr. Davis: At the request of.Mr. Randal S. Marsh, Attorney for Radford Quarries of Boone, Inc., I have reviewed paragraph 6 on page 2 of your letter of July 23, 1993 to determine the appropriate plants for the on site quarry landscape. I have recommended that Native Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel and Blue Rug Juniper be utilized for shubbery purposes. These plants will maintain a height between 12" to 36" and can be periodically trimmed for maintenance of desired appearance to the landscaping areas. Further, tulips and daffodils will provide color for the spring season and reoccur on an annual basis with low maintenance required. These bulbs are proven -in the Watauga County area as resilient to the changes in climate. Penagro, Inc. is an international company providing services to a worldwide turf and ornamental market. We are pleased to be available to assist you with our recommendations on this project.
