RE: Additional Information for the 401 Water Quality Certification Application
Rutman Creek Watershed Restoration Project, Hyde County, NC
DWQ # 08-1319
Mr. McMillan:
We received your letter dated October 14, 2008 in which you request additional info-nation regarding
the Rutman Creek Watershed Restoration project. Below is a response to your concerns:
1. Incorrect and/or missing wetland, intermittent perennial stream and/or buffer impacts. The total
stream impacts noted on Pages 8 and 9 of 12 appear to be posted incorrectly. Page 8 and 9 shoes
total stream impact at 7,900 linear feet; however the figures shown equal 7,150 linear, feet. Please
provide five (5) copies of corrected information.
See attachment #1.
I hope this information adequately answers your concerns. Please contact me if you have any additional
questions. Thank you for your assistance with this project.
Sincerely,
Ashley Futr?l

4. Individually list all intermittent and perennial stream impacts. Be sure to identify temporary
impacts. Stream impacts include, but are not limited to placement of fill or culverts, dam
construction, flooding, relocation, stabilization activities (e.g., cement walls, rip-rap, crib
walls, gabions, etc.), excavation, ditching/straightening, etc. If stream relocation is proposed,
plans and profiles showing the linear footprint for both the original and relocated streams
must be included. To calculate acreage, multi ly length X width, then divide b 43,560.
