Application Sets and Permitting Fee
Dear Mr. Carlson,
On May 5, 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated April 29, 2008 for the above
referenced project. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information
as discussed below. Please provide the following information and/or fee so that we may continue to review your project.
® Water Quality Certification #3689 states: "All proposed fill or modification of wetlands and/or waters, including
streams and streambanks under this General Certification requires application to and written approval from the
Division of Water Quality (the "Division"), regardless of the purpose of the restoration, enhancement, stabilization,
or creation activity.
In accordance with North Carolina General Statute Section 143-215.3D(e), written approval for a 401 Water Quality
General Certification must include the appropriate fee.
® The fee for applications is $240 for projects impacting less than an acre of wetland and less than 150 linear feet of
streams whether intermittent or perennial). For projects impacting one or more acres of wetland or 150 or more feet
of streams (whether intermittent or perennial), the fee is $570. Please remit $240 to begin the review and approval
process.
® DWQ requires five (5) complete application sets to begin the review process. Please submit four (4) more complete
sets.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or protected buffers.
Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized (at this time) by the DWQ. Please call
Mr. Ian McMillan or me at 919-733-1786 if you have any questions regarding or would like to set up a meeting to discuss
this matter.
Sincerely,
'L a
